The Comparative: Using -er and more
- we add -er to an adjective: Jane is older than Jack.
- we use more in front of an adjective: This watch is more expensive than that one.
Adjectives with one syllable
old → older
cheap → cheaper
large → larger

Adjectives that end in -y
pretty → prettier
funny → funnier

Adjectives with two or more syllables

interesting → more interesting
